BEGINS

OCT 1

WALKTOBER is a month-long walking campaign beginning October 1. Participate as a team of 4 or individually. Each participant will track individual steps using a FREE issued pedometer or other fitness tracker. Log your steps using the paper tracker or electronically using the emailed links you will receive weekly.  Submit completed trackers to Eagan Center for Wellness by November 7 to receive campaign credit and be entered into the prize drawings.

HOW IT WORKS

GETTING STARTED

1. REGISTER ONLINE OR ON-SITE

Register online or on-site at the Eagan Center for Wellness by October 3.

2. ATTEND THE KICK-OFF WEEK

Stop by during the kick-off week September 22- 26, at the Eagan Center for Wellness, to receive your Participant Guide with paper tracker and FREE Pedometer.

Eagan Center for Wellness Hours: Mon–Thurs 6 a.m. – 5 p.m. & Friday 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

3. TRACK YOUR STEPS 

Record your steps daily in the FitLyfe portal, the Health-2-GO app, wearabletracking device or the paper tracking log.
Tracking begins October 1 and ends on October 31.

4. SUBMIT YOUR LOG

Submit a copy to the Eagan Center for Wellness by November 7 or complete weekly steps through the link that will be emailed to you.
Receive campaign credit for your WellBody Plus Goals.

INVEST IN GOOD SHOES

They should fit without pinching or pressure.  Wear the type of socks you will wear when walking.

WARM UP

Walk at a normal pace for 5 minutes to warm up – then increase your tempo.

CHANGE ROUTE

Change your route and vary your terrain.  You’ll prevent boredom and hills will provide additional benefits.

HYDRATE

Don’t wait to hydrate. 

Carry a water bottle and

drink often.
